This role is ideal for a candidate looking towards a future General Manager role that needs further experience leading a team before making that step. Training and support will be provided by a strong and experienced senior management team. There is also potential for this role to evolve into a General Manager position.
Job Description:
The Bar Manager is directly responsible for many aspects of the day to day running of the venue. They may delegate responsibilities to others within the team with the approval of the director. The bar manager will be the main shift runner for the premises and will be required to work all Fridays and Saturdays barring approved leave.
The Bar Manager is the key shift-runner and must be a personal licence holder. They will spend the majority of their time running bar shifts but they do have other important duties supporting the director. They may be required to cover dayshifts for deliveries, cleaning or other activities. The bar manager may also be asked to assist in the running of, or lead the running of events like cocktail masterclasses, wine tastings or other events. They are the first line of communication for any junior staff and should lead by example with their knowledge and enthusiasm.
The bar manager will, alongside their management responsibilities, also work on the bar when required and should lead the team while on shift.
